The process of cow dung into fertilizer usually includes the following major steps: raw material pretreatment, fermentation treatment, drying, granulation, cooling and packaging. 1. Cow dung into fertilizer Pre-treatment of raw materials
Cow dung, as a raw material for organic fertilizers, first needs to be pre-treated with the aim of removing impurities from it, improving its homogeneity and reducing its moisture content. Since cow dung contains high moisture and possible crude fiber, it must be properly treated before entering the fermentation stage.
Equipment:
Screener: Used to remove large impurities such as stones, twigs, etc. from cow dung into fertilizer. The aperture of the sieve is usually set between 5~10mm.
Crusher: cow manure needs to be crushed before fermentation, with the aim of reducing the size of particles and improving the fermentation effect. The commonly used crushing equipment is horizontal crusher, which is suitable for high moisture and sticky materials.
2. Cow dung into fertilizer Fermentation
Fermentation is the most critical step in the processing of cow dung. Through proper fermentation, harmful substances such as pathogens and parasite eggs can be eliminated, and at the same time, the organic matter is transformed so that it can be more readily absorbed by plants. This process is usually carried out at a certain temperature and humidity.
Equipment:
Compost Turner: The turner is used to turn the cow manure pile to ensure the temperature and humidity inside the pile are evenly distributed. The common ones are crawler type turner and self-propelled turner.
Compost fermenter: It is used for fermentation in a closed environment, keeping high temperature and humidity to ensure fast and efficient fermentation.
Fermentation temperature: 50-70°C
Fermentation time: 7-15 days
3. Cow dung into fertilizer Granulation
Granulation is the process of converting raw cow dung after fermentation treatment into granules.
The production of cow dung fertilizer requires uniform particles, smooth appearance and high strength. Common granulation equipment include pin granulator.
Equipment:
Pin granulator: churning tooth granulator is the most commonly used equipment in the production of cow dung granulation. Through the high speed rotation of the churn teeth on the main shaft in the cylinder, the material is cut and agglomerated to form hard particles.

4. Cow dung into fertilizer Drying
After granulation, cow dung is further processed into organic fertilizer pellets, but the humidity level is still too high, which can lead to agglomeration and deterioration of the pellets during storage and transportation, so it needs to be dried by further drying in order to achieve the right level of humidity.
The humidity of organic fertilizer should be controlled between 7%-12%.
Equipment:
Rotary dryer: by rotating, the material is fully contacted with hot air to achieve the effect of water removal. It is suitable for large-scale production.
Fluidized bed dryer: make the material suspended in the air through air flow, increase the contact area between heat and material, so as to improve the drying efficiency.
Rotary dryer heat source: coal, natural gas, electric heating, fuel oil
Dryer processing capacity: 3-20 tons / hour
Particle humidity: 7%-12
5. Cow dung into fertilizer Cooling
The temperature of the granulated cow dung fertilizer is high after pelletizing and must be cooled.
Cooling not only restores the granules to room temperature, but also increases the hardness and stability of the granules.
Equipment:
Rotary cooling machine: through the rotation of the cylinder, the hot particles are thrown into the air by the internal lifting plate to be in full contact with the cold air, which rapidly reduces the temperature of the particles.
Cooling capacity of rotary cooler: 3-20 tons/hour
Discharge temperature: ≤30°C
6. Cow dung into fertilizer Screening and packaging
The cooled granular fertilizer needs to be screened and packaged to further improve the quality of the finished product, sieve away the unqualified granules and package the qualified granules for easy transportation and storage.
Equipment:
Vibrating screener or rotary screener: screen out the particles that do not meet the specifications.
Automatic Packing Machine: automatically weigh the granular fertilizer and pack and seal the bag according to the demand.
